There are different methods of soft washing; the method(s) we recommend for your property will depend on a number of factors. These factors include Health and safety of our staff, your safety and that of members of the public who may be affected and then the type of wall surface you have, access around the property, how much of the wall is affected with moss of lichen.

Moss & Algae Removal

Growth of Algae, Lichen & Moss on hard surfaces over time is a common feature in the Lakeland regions of Cavan, Fermanagh, Leitrim and Monaghan.

Over time the red, green or black growth is not only unsightly but left unchecked may result in more significant structural problems from the growth "eating into" the finish of your roof, disrupting the flow of rain water as well as premature deterioration of the tile's integrity.

Until now the methods of cleaning the moss and algae were limited to scrapping and spraying with industrial grade bleaches. AlgoClear(tm) Pro is an additional alternative, it is a biocide eradicating moss, algae and lichen with little to no environmental impact. Advanced Cleaning Experts are certified applicators trained in the application of AlgoClear(tm) Pro.

Roof Cleaning Methods

• Scraping the roof to remove deposits and to allow the natural flow of water to be restored.
  
• Hot Pressure Washing
  
• AlgoClear Pro Softwash

Where there is a large accumulation of moss it is often necessary to first remove these deposits by scraping before applying the AlgoClear(tm) Pro to the roof to ensure large amounts of moss do not block gutters and downpipes as well as ensuring the results as aesthetically pleasing for you as quickly as possible.

Dry Dash/ Pebble Dash

Like K-Rend we cannot use aggressive cleaning techniques as it would damage the surface. We utilise softwashing techniques also commonly known as Chemical wash to gently but effectively break down the grime and rinsing off to restore the building or walls to their former glory.

Tarmac

Aggressive washing techniques risk unravelling tarmac and is not recommended. Softwashing will effectively remove moss and general grime and Algo-Clear 50 can be applied to kill moss spores and increase the longevity of tarmac drives, carparks and paths

Old and Listed Properties

It is not advisable to use High pressure and aggressive cleaning techniques on historic or even old properties due to the high probability of further damage to old stonework, plaster and joints. We recommend Algo-Clear Pro and soft washing to remove algae and a buildup of environmental pollutants which will help protect the building into the future.
